Position Summary:
The Host/Hostess is the first and last point of contact for every guest, serving as the face of the restaurant. This role is responsible for greeting guests warmly, managing reservations and walk-in traffic, and ensuring an organized and efficient flow of service. The Host/Hostess sets the tone for the guest experience by delivering hospitality with warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests to the restaurant.
- Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists.
- Manage reservations.
- Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas.
- Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitress’s name.
- Greet customers upon their departure.
- Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
- Maintain a clean reception area.
- Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. elderly)
- Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries.
- Assists wait staff as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of restaurant etiquette
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Demonstrable customer-service skills
- Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area.
- Availability to work in shifts as needed.
- Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Hospitality certification is a plus.
- Previous experience as a as a Host/Hostess or Waiter/Waitress
- Experience in managing reservations.
Physical Requirements:
- Remain standing for extended periods of time.
- Bending, squatting and lifting up to 15 lbs. for short distances.
- Ability to work with varying noise levels.
