Sommelier - Steelbach

Tampa, FL

Three Oaks Hospitality, a collection of community-driven restaurants and bars, is looking for an experienced Sommelier to ensure proper wine service for Steelbach located at Armature Works. Steelbach is a Southern-inspired kitchen and chophouse offering innovative food paired with timeless flair. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create and update the wine list in coordination with chefs and the Food and Beverage Manager
  • Recommend food and wine pairings
  • Advise guests on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices
  • Inform guests about different varieties of wines and prices
  • Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware
  • Store open bottles properly to maintain strong taste
  • Manage wine cellar and ensure it’s fully-stocked
  • Train wait staff on available wines
  • Negotiate purchase prices with vendors
  • Organize wine tasting days or “wine of the month” events
  • Ask guests for ID to verify legal drinking age
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to effectively resolve issues.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of wine varieties and regions.
  • Ability to keep up with wine trends and selections. 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2+ years Sommelier experience required.
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate 
  • Completion of Sommelier Certification preferred. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
